Today we are going to talk about Schedule Management or Scheduling.

As a general definition : Scheduling is committing resources to the realization of an event at a defined time. Scheduling is committing resources to a plan. Time can be specified (Scheduling a flight to leave at 8:00) or floating as part of a sequence of events (today's production schedule: orders 122, 123, 124)

Scheduling may refer to:

• I/O scheduling, the order in which I/O requests are submitted to a block device in Computer Operating Systems
• Scheduling (broadcasting), the minute planning of the content of a radio or television broadcast channel
• Scheduling (computing), the way various processes are assigned in multitasking and multiprocessing operating system design
• Scheduling (production processes), the planning of the production or the operation
  Schedule (workplace), ensuring that an organization has sufficient staffing levels at all times

Task Management - Task Management Software

We are talking here Workflow Management. As part of our talk on Workflow Management, we talked Office Automation and today we are going to talk Task Management.


Task management is a process of managing task (or task portfolio) during it's lifecycle, including planning, testing, tracking and reporting.
Effective task management suppose managing all aspects of a task including its status, priority, time, human and financial resources assignments, recurrency, notifications and so on.
Managing multiple individual or team tasks may require a special task management software which is available on the Web.
Task management is a part of project management and process management.
